Advanced training in Taking Measurements and Fitting Ocular Prostheses in Barcelona
We invite you to a 100% practical training at our Centre, specialising in taking measurements and fitting ocular prostheses.
What do we propose in the course?
Anatomical study of the cavity
Taking measurements using the empirical technique
Taking measurements using the mixed technique
Taking measurements using the printing technique
Preparation of the final mould
ART-LENS training with 20-30 patients per day and workshop practices
Workshop practice, use of micromotor and polisher
Delivery of ocular prosthesis
Resolution of complex cavities
Ocular prosthesis maintenance, insertion and removal
Adjustments and finishing touches in the final adaptation
All you have to worry about is taking the measurements and delivering the piece.
We'll take care of the rest!
Taking measurements using 3 different techniques:
1. Printing technique:
We obtain the shape of the cavity by using a printing plate.
2. Empirical technique:
The cavity requirements are worked using wax in base moulds.
3. Mixed technique:
Combination of printing and empirical technique.
Each technique offers us a personalised result for each patient’s cavity and we can work with the technique that best suits each case.
