WHAT IS
LOW VISION?

We understand that when a person has Low Vision, they do not have sufficient acuity of vision to carry out certain everyday tasks or activities, even with the best conventional optical correctives.

WHO ARE VISUAL AIDS

They are aimed at all those people with Low Vision who, following extensive examination, are sufficiently motivated and visually able to benefit from Visual Aids.

WHAT DO LOW VISION AIDS CONSIST OF?

TYPES OF AIDS

Optical aids for far sight:
Pocket telescopes or mounted as monocular or binocular spectacles, either fixed focus or afocal.

Optical aids for near sight:
Magnifying glasses, tele-microscopes, microscopes mounted as spectacles, monocular, binocular or bifocals.

Electronic aids:
Pocket, trolley or manual magnifying glass televisions, computer magnification systems.

Special filters:
To avoid glare and provide greater contrast.

Non-optical aids:
Lamps, large-prints (playing cards…),book-rests… These complementary aids enable better ergonomics, greater light contrast and lighting.
